———— BRANDING

These three gum packages were created to celebrate three great designers and reinterpret their varied and iconic styles. The three packages focus on Michael Bierut, Jonathan Barnbrook, and Kate Moross, and reflect their styles in design and flavor.
It was interesting to study these designers and their work, and try to create my own twist on their design styles. Taking what I felt were important aspects of their aesthetics, I created these gum packages as a spec orbit collaboration.
————
Each package design includes a small bio on the artist on the inside, as well as gum with flavors relating to each of the artist's styles. A fresh spearmint for the clean, refined design of Bierut, a kicking-back, biting cinnamon for the tounge-and-cheek design of Barnbrook, and a bubbly, childish flavor for the fun illustrations of Moross.
————
Using a common layout for each design helped to keep the three very different designs complimentary to each other. The gum packs are meant to live as a family, and finding a home for each in the set took time, but resulted in a varied collection tied together by a few common threads.
